Embroidered Peacock Scroll

Antique embroidered scroll from Korea depicting a mated pair of peacocks with blossoms and a verse in classical Chinese characters, and embellished with 2 seals. Coloured silk thread on silk. Handsomely mounted on patterned green silk-paper, suspended by string, and anchored by a solid wood rod with rounded ends.

Exact age unknown, but almost certainly early 20th century. Some minor fading and discoloration that is consistent with the age of the piece.

Dimensions: height 167cm (just under 66"); width 47cm (18.5"); length of rod 56cm (a little over 22"). All measurements are approximate.
